The Design and Simulation of Adaptive Cruise Control System

In this study, an Adaptive Cruise Control system is designed by using conventional Proportional Integral Controller (PID) and Model Predictive (MPC). the design, vehicle, acceleration, deceleration models are constructed in a way to sim-ulate real-life environment. The design simulation were carried out through Matlab Simulink. order investigate effects of gains PID controller, several values for Kp, Ki, Kd tested. results illustrated that Kp have negligible on vehicle acceleration but gain Ki has substantial effect response ego car. controller compared with when replaced MPC. It been shown gives better as MPC inde-pendent from values. Therefore, we can confidently state provides responses addition its accessibility, simpler cost advantages controller.
